Subject: >An inopportune delivery<

Above the Weyr, a dragon appears from between, silhouetted for a moment by the afternoon sun before he circles slowly down to land in front of the Lower Caverns. By the noise inside, the Hatching Feast is going full-swing, so Roventh doesn't bellow as he normally would to summon drudges, just settles down to wait for someone to notice him. The brown is riderless, but has buckets strung on ropes tied to his harness, packed full of fish - flash-frozen by the trip between, which the Headwoman always appreciates.

Eventually, a brown firelizard buzzes by the entrance and catches a glimpse of earth-toned hide outside. That in itself isn't strange, since riders are still trailing in to the Caverns, but this is the second time that Ren has seen this same dragon. Zipping outside, the firelizard circles Roventh's head, chirps once, and vanishes between, materializing in the kitchen. Gisella is still working on some last-minute details, not to mention supervising the workers who aren't free from their duties just yet, and she sighs in quiet exasperation when Ren gives her a mental image of the familiar dragon. N'ris usually waits until I'm not busy to pull in the nets and bring back his catch, so something odd must have happened, she decides as she slips along the wall and outside. But nobody's panicking and Roventh isn't upset, so it's not something bad. That's all she needs to know; if N'ris wants to pass any messages on, he'll have Roventh tell another dragon whose rider can talk to Gisella. The Headwoman arrives outside and sighs again, then smiles at the brown dragon. "Hello, Roventh. Let's get that fish off of you." This is not the time to be dragging the buckets of fish through the Lower Caverns, and N'ris isn't here to help, as he usually is. Fortunately, someone else is passing through. For a moment, Gisella hesitates. Then she recognizes the bluerider, and her eyes glitter with justified satisfaction. This one is still in serious trouble with her, and this will be a good way for him to pay off that debt. "S'kar!" she calls imperiously. "Come help me with this fish!"

S'kar groans softly; he'd been hoping to stay out of Gisella's sight this evening, especially without R'ven around to brunt the force of her annoyance. But now is not the time to argue. Pasting on a weak smile, the bluerider obeys her summons. "Where are we going to put it?" he wonders.

"For now, just get it off Roventh. Then we can put it in one of the buildings until tomorrow, when I can get more people to help me put it in the cold storage caves," Gisella orders. S'kar nods and quickly moves to untie the knots holding the ropes to the harness. As soon as Roventh is free, the brown launches himself skyward and vanishes between, while the Headwoman and her unwilling helper move the fish.
