In reply to: V'tan, Melynda, L'kas 's message, "Re: [V'tan, Melynda, L'kas]" on 19:24:49 10/14/05 Fri

Smiling gratefully, S'kar sets his plate and wineglass down across from L'kas and slides onto the bench. "Nice to meet you, L'kas." Before he can say more, Melynda asks him about R'ven, and the bluerider turns towards her with a quick, cheerful grin. "Well, he thought it would be tomorrow, but Massath went into the air early. She's still flying now, I believe." The whole Weyr will probably be able to hear it when she gets caught, he thinks privately. This will be Massath's first long flight in a while. "R'ven seems to be fine - I saw him flirting with a weyrling bluerider earlier, and he seemed alright then. I have to admit I've been avoiding him, because when Massath's proddy he really shows it," S'kar adds in a stage-whisper, winking at V'tan and L'kas where Melynda can't see.

I'm surprised she didn't see them when she came in, Raskith mutters in the back of S'kar's head. Big bright green dragon up there glowing and screaming. She's hard to miss. There's a sour note beneath the snide tone; the blue isn't taking his rejection either well or maturely.

/Raskith, stop being so snippy,/ S'kar snaps back. He's honestly quite relieved that Massath had laid down the law on that subject, because if other greenriders think he's taken then he'll never find bedmates, but he's getting tired of how poorly his dragon is behaving. /She was probably just being polite, anyway. You keep acting like this and I'll- I'll send Smoke and Smidge up to scratch at your eyes!/ His expression is the usual, not-quite-there emptiness of a rider talking to his dragon, with a slight touch of irritation in the set of his mouth.

There's a moment of silence from Raskith before the blue replies. ...Sorry. The dragon sounds chastened, and a little bit guilty.

Satisfied that his dragon is going to behave himself, S'kar blinks a few times and smiles apologetically at his dinnermates. "I'm sorry about that, Raskith was being rude. I saw you Impress Fuareth; he seemed to be quite a fine-looking young dragon. A good color, too." He winks again, this time wordlessly inviting L'kas into the brotherhood of blueriders. "I see you didn't bring him to the Feast. I suppose he was tired out?" Smiling companionably at the young man in an effort to make L'kas as comfortable as possible, S'kar reaches up and scratches the top of Smidge's head with one hand while taking a bite of his roast herdbeast with the other. Smoke chitters in protest and snakes his head around to bump against the side of S'kar's hand; S'kar laughs affectionately and manages to maneuver so he can scratch each small head with a different finger.

((The shortness is fine. I'll repeat the request for separate paragraphs for separate characters, though. I normally wouldn't complain about how other RPers write, but it is REALLY confusing, and makes it hard for me to reply when I can't always tell who is doing or saying what. When I can't read/reply easily, I do feel obliged to ask.))
