Cat smiled as finally Dey and S’kil grabbed glasses and joined the toast. However, as L’van made his joke, the three choked up.

“Good one, L’van!” Cat grinned, giving a giggle. Then, she looked over at the twins. “Either of you thinking to Impress?” she asked curiously. She loved her Beni more than anyhting else in the world, and the thought of one of them sharing a similar bond made her smile.

Dey looked over at S’kil. “You gonna hatch the impression, when it comes?”

S’kil smiled. “Wouldn’t miss it!”

Dey looked curiously at the bluerider. “Somehow,” she said, frowning, “you seem familiar… do you have a younger sibling or something I might know?”

S’kil looked startled. “I’ve got K’nto, but—”

Dey cut him off, eyes wide. “K’nto? As in once Kento?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Because, that means I do know you! Sokil? Kento’s older brother? It’s me; Dey, Nite’s little sister!”

S’kil brightened up. “Dey? Shards, when I last saw you, you were what, six? Yeah, ten turns ago!” S’kil laughed softly. “You’ve grown!”

“So’ve you!” Dey smiled. “You were only ten! Now look! Twenty now, right?”

“Right.” S’kil replied. “Shards, why didn’t I recognize you before?”

“Dunno. Why didn’t I recognize K’nto? If he impressed, he’s probably the only albino rider!” She grinned, using a term she’d never quite used on a human. But, it was true; the brownrider was white-skinned, white-haired, and red-eyes. “Now that I remember the names of all the weyrlings… he’s got brown Efferoth, right?”

“Right. Hey, whatever happened to the others?”

Dey instantly gloomed up. She didn’t have to say anything; the depressed, hopeless experession on her face was enough.

“Sorry.” He murmured, putting an arm around her. “Didn’t know.”

“S’alright.” She managed.

Cat decided to change the subject. “Er, what did you guys say again? Did either of you want to impress?”
