I wish you could have convinced my mom of that when I was a teen and she was alive. She was Irish and had been brought up Catholic in what was supposed to have been a religious family. Unfortunately she had been abused growing up by a close family member, another ostensibly strict religious elder of the local church, usher at Sunday mass and member of several Catholic men's societies. She had some strict ideas about boys, men and sex which I have no doubt affected me throughout my life. Sex was a sin and its consequence was the Eternal Fires of Hell. Erections were a sign of indecent thoughts and often punishable. Trying to cover the penis when naked was an act of "Playing with it" When she began to become ill, she slowly turned over many of the household chores to my sister, who despite her being a year younger, included bathing both our baby brother and me. Kathy also was told to take over spanking us, first when mom started the ritual and became tired and then the whole spanking. Kathy began to decide when a spanking was deserved and mom supported her decisions. So if I became aroused during or after a spanking I often was pulled back over mom's lap for another ten or twenty swats on my already well tanned heiney. Many times she caught me that way during the "corner time" and after the extra spanking she would say "So you want to show yourself off ?" then ordering me to remain naked for the rest of the day. If it was a sunny non-school day, I'd be sent out into the back yard to play or rake leaves and cut grass where the immediate neighbors and other kids could see me. When mom died, except for about nine months when dad was planning on marrying his secretary, Kathy continued to run the house and spanked me until I was over nineteen.
