 Resistance is never a good idea, even if there is no helper to come and make you submit. The educational function requires a fair serious submission.

How often would a helper be called upon to actually intervene?

Just knowing that their uncle would come and strap them and then get a spanking from me is all that is needed. My brother-in-law was called only once.
