But, with the thin yardsticks that are given away mainly as advertising, one can plausibly hope for it to snap. But some moms paid for a "better" one and our next-door neighbor had what she termed her "unbreakable" one. Indeed, it never broke while I lived near her. My mother's freebies always broke and often early enough in a spanking that I actually got off after one snapped into two useless for spanking parts. The one i first got smacked with as an 11 or 12 year old was the same one my youngest brother got till he was a mid teen. Thats about a decade and it never looked like breaking. It hurt us boys so bad. The pain was like an intense sting initially that then changed to a burning pain. The sting came straight back as soon as a fresh whack landed. A sturdy yardstick should be right up there with say a strap and paddle when it comes to how much implements hurt.
