 I agree I was 12 and a middle school cheerleader when that paddling happened it was after a hard practice we were wearing our cheer blouses and cheer panties for practice it was on Matt’s so a male coaching us would be embarrassing even in high school level and I also cheered in high school . We lived in a farming community in Alabama my name was called after practice by the coach for swats in the locker room after practice her office was in the locker room two other girls were going to get the paddle after me . I did cry loud after my paddling but that was normal for me I was a cry baby but it wasn’t traumatic it would be traumatic if the coaches were male . For the record I grew up on a farm my husband and I farm and have three daughters.
