As someone who knows something about hairbrush spankings, if the brush used has some weight to it, is made of sturdy hardwood, and applied with some real force behind it, a two-minute spanking will leave two deep red marks with some blistering in the centers where the brush's first impact was absorbed. These bruising marks turn the colors of ripe cherries and plums that take at least several days to fade and can still be visible for a week or more.

Hairbrush spanking can be a severe punishment that is not only torture while it's happening, it leaves two very uncomfortable tender spots on the bottom the next day. While your willful disobedience was a spankable offense, at least in my opinion it did not rise to the level of a severe hairbrush spanking. A little sore for a few days and a week of grounding sounds appropriate. Drunk driving is a more serious issue.
