I live in U.S. South and I am not saying boys don't get lickings but teenage girls catch it a lot more than teenage boys. That is not right! The teacher brought them out together for disrupting class. The girl got three licks and the boy got five. There may have been some extenuating circumstances, but the girl was paddled first. She was made to bend over and grab her ankles, The skirt she was wearing was short (actually a little too short for the standards) and I don't know if she wasn't wearing panties or if they were just very skimpy and riding up (pre thong days) but the teacher (who was female) gave her three hard licks on her bared bottom. Then while she was rubbing her butt and crying, she made the boy empty his pockets, bend over, grab his ankles and gave him five hard licks on the seat of his jeans. Although he had much more protection, He was in tears by the time she finished too. They all went back inside the classroom and then the girl was taken by the teacher to the office with a note about the length of her skirt. I never saw her wear a skirt that short to school again. Unlike this forum, or anything like it now, parents had to send in proof of age and be interviewed. All posts had to first be approved by parents and the moderator (who was quite strict about it). I begged my parents to let me join, and they did. It was a big help for me, just in learning I was not alone, and developing strategies to avoid, and eventually end, this type of childish punishment. I bring it up here because boys outnumbered girls at least five to one. However, I am not sure that is typical across the population at large. In talking with girls/women since then I believe older girls are probably spanked more than older boys -- but generally only talk about it with other girls, if they do at all. Girls tend to be more agreeable than boys and do better with a lot of structure, while boys usually need to learn to make their own mistakes. So, it makes sense to spank girls well into their teens or even later. In our church community, girls are still getting bare bottom spankings at home as late as 17 or 18.
