My sister was still getting bare bottom, over the knee spankings from mom well into her teens. The last time I saw her get spanked she was sixteen. Mom made her pull her pants down and go over her lap, then blistered her bare bottom with a hairbrush for coming in after curfew. On top of that she got grounded. I know it had to be really embarrassing standing fully exposed in front of mom while she was getting chewed out before being turned over and spanked. She got her last spankings at seventeen and at least one of them was over the knee. I wasn't living at home at that time, but Karen called me and told me mom caught her with cigarettes and blistered her bare butt for it.
As far as size goes, Karen was around five foot five and a pretty big girl. Mom was five foot nothing and not very big at all. So it wasn't size that was the issue. I think there were other "issues" involved as to why she stopped spanking me over her knee. The last time she did it, she was wearing only a long t-shirt and she pulled my pants down to my knees. She never said anything about it, but I think my "reaction" to being bare over her bare lap had a lot to do with her decision. I still got plenty of spankings and they were always on the bare butt, but she never turned me over her knee after that. She may have stopped over the knee spankings for my brother for the same reason.

Curious

Mum was and is pretty slappy but it was hard for me to cooperate the one time she tried to give me a real spanking at 15 or 16. It was only the threat to get my brother to hold me that ...

I don't think the boys got spanked in their later teens but I assumed it would have been equally hard for them to cooperate as they weren't that much smaller than dad.
