This is the German word for a cane, in Czech "rákoska". A supple piece of rattan cane that bites deep into the flesh and very quickly leaves visible welts on the skin.

I have always wondered if the Rohr part of the name means the sound that you will produce when spanked with a cane! I gather it doesn't! But perhaps it should!

Well, I have heard some girls and women roar(!) like a stag when the 'Rohrstock' has kissed their bum. But I think it has something to do with the similarity to the hollow bamboo cane (cane = 'Rohr' in German, I think).

Radka is definitely right. A hollow stick or reed, i.e. the typical rattan cane. Even bamboo song and dance canes for entertainers are hollow. I did enjoy Radka's line:

I have heard some girls and women roar(!) like a stag when the 'Rohrstock' has kissed their bum.

Especially her description of an agonizing cane stroke as a kiss on the bottom!

There is probably no other topic more prone to cynical euphemisms than the rendezvous of a girl's bottom with her "yellow friend". And that also and especially applies to those who have to bend down for the nasty end of the cane.

A very important observation, Radka. I wonder why so many avoid calling a spanking a "spanking?" I do not think that it is limited to young women. Young men discussing an upcoming caning at a British boarding school were chatting and the older said to the younger who was quite worried about his "sixer" that was coming "Don't worry. You will "sing out" with each stroke just like we all did. Another person who bragged about how short spankings can be asserted that to be effective, they do have to last long enough to produce the "spanking song."

Btw, what else in Czech is a "ra'koska?" That is, does it apply to anything other than a disciplinary rattan cane?

Rákoska is the diminutive of Rákos, which means reed. It is therefore very similar to English or German. A very popular nickname is also ‘Umělci’, which you could translate as an artist but also an expert or craftsman. Just someone who is able to solve your problems...

Radka makes another important point about nicknames for a disciplinary reed or cane. As kids we chewed Double Bubble gum that allowed some to blow bubbles. I never managed it but others could. Blowing a bubble produced a noisy pop! This revealed that you were chewing gum and THAT could get you into big trouble in formal environments like school or worship services. So often the smacking pop sound the gum made was followed by a real life smacking by an adult's ‘Umělci’, (which you could translate as an artist but also an expert or craftsman. Just someone who is able to solve your problems...)

While the bubble popping didn't solve all your problems the adult response definitely helped to focus ALL and I mean all of your attention, on the red stripe developing right across your bottom!

Sorry Alfred, I can of course translate your words, but I don't think I got the message.

I do apologize. I was trying to compare the sound of a bubble gum bubble popping to the sound of a cane landing on a bottom.

Bubble gum may not be familiar. In my day it was popular with kids and some could arrange it so that when they exhaled into the gum, it expanded and made a large bubble. If they kept exhaling and blowing into the bubble, eventually it would burst and make a large POP! This sound was something like the sound of a cane stroke! A cane stroke might well follow! As a punishment for chewing the gum!

When I was a kid I was having a bubble blowing competition with a couple friends. I blew a bubble so big that it popped all over my face and got in my hair. My mom was not amused. I didn't get a spanking, but my mom couldn't get the gum out of my hair and she had to cut my hair.

I just remembered. One time, I think I was in 2nd grade I entertained the whole class by blowing up a balloon and popping it under my desk. The whole class laughed...except the teacher. I got in trouble. Again I didn't get a spanking, but my mom was not happy.

You were a fun kid and your mom may not have shown it but she was laughing along with you.

Still you kind of owe her more than one good one! Pay up! It will definitely end your boredom. We know that your mom knows a lot about spanking! How to do it. When to do it.

A tiny bit of consent and encouragement from you and she definitely will spank you, and quite properly

I appreciate your concern, but I think I'd rather not.

I guess I was a fun kid, but when I think about it I was a naughty kid and I should have got my butt whooped a hundred times. I was kind of a shy, unsure kid and I think I did a lot of naughty things, not real bad, just naughty to get accepted or something.

but no, I'm sure Shelby will more than make up for all the whoopins I didn't get.
