You just described what my spankings are like and pretty much how I feel so that's why I made that comment. My spankings are meant to be unpleasant, that's the point. I do learn and I need to mention that my parents are very loving. However, if / when I make a bad decision, they hold me accountable. Don't think of it as a bad thing. It's parents who allow their kids to do whatever they want. That's bad.

Jan, you are young, and have possibly missed the point here. We are not debating parental discipline methods. Whether I agree with it or not, I'm happy you feel your discipline at home is good for you. We're talking about a different subject. A child being punished by a parent is not for the purpose of entertainment. Do you not agree?

The person who originated this thread is presumably old enough to choose the relationship she is in, and posed a question about an adult discipline relationship. As adults, we can entertain ourselves with what a spanking is under those conditions. The experience of an adult spanking and how you are being raised can on the surface be identical descriptions but, for some of us, they are not the same experience.
