 In most European countries if not all spanking is illegal.
But I think it’s to have the possibility to send people to court who abuse their kids.
A normal spanking to correct or punish a child is not where that law is ment for.

I was spanked until I left home to marry.
I never even thought of going to the police after a spanking.
A few times my mom went a little to far with the hairbrush and I couldn’t sit the next day.
That happened but it never came in my mind to think different than that I deserved it and I should behave better.

Even mom perhaps went to far, it was still given with love.
So yes spankings are stilliggen even if it’s “illegal”.
