Well, I would yes, I have in a way. My mom has a company car and I am not allowed to drive it without her permission. With her not being home, I decided to sneak it out on my own for a short trip to the store. I just was not thinking and felt, one short trip would not hurt and how would she know anyway. After getting home though, I just felt guilty and then thought, what if she finds out on her own and then the punishment may be a lot worse. So, when she got home, I told her what I did. I knew what I did was serious, would most likely mean the strap, and unfortunately, I was right. Although mom did say that she was glad I confessed. If she found out it would have been worse. Anyway, she just said, I knew I did wrong, knew there has to be consequences, it was serious and so go to the pantry and bring me the strap. Then it was over the back of a chair. She even left that strap out in plain sight the rest of the day. It was awful.

It's not easy confessing something to your parents knowing that it will lead to the strap. In my case it was something I posted on here. My dad also comes here from time to time so he probably would have found it. I also felt really bad about what I said so I showed it to dad. He was proud of me for coming forward but he and mom both agreed that it would be the strap. Feeling the burn of that strap on the bare was just awful but relief that it was over and I no longer felt guilty.
