Subject: babysitter with brush Author: Jake [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 19:30:25 05/15/26 Fri When I was 11, my parents took a 3 day trip to the beach. They hired a college student to sit for me. I knew her since she had previously sat for me a couple of times, but 3 days was very different from an evening. In the past, I had tested Sandy's patience and received a stern warning and a threat. But, based on those experiences, I was convinced that she was all threat and no real consequences. On the first evening that she was in charge, I decided to test her limits about bedtime. I fully expected a scolding at worst. After I argued for a couple of minutes, Sandy informed me that "I have a nice cherry wood backed hair brush and I know how to use it until your butt matches it in color". I retreated to my bedroom, while Sandy and a friend drank cokes, played cards and smoked cigarettes. To my 11 yo brain, this was a clear signal that these 2 ladies had little interest in my behavior. I proceeded to take my radio under the covers and listen to a baseball game. A few moments later, I was rudely interrupted by both as my covers were pulled back. Sandy already had her brush in her hand. Her friend suggested that the belt might be an even better choice. I then got a " good lecture" from 2 college students who debated the choice of the brush versus the belt. Sandy in formed me that she was not going to put up with disobedience for the next 3 days. Sandy did a thorough job with her brush and left me crying. They both then told me that I had my last "warning" and that they expected me to behave. My parents had never put me in the corner, but I discovered the experience of the pajama clad corner I certainly was very careful for the rest of the weekend to behave. I was smart enough to not challenge her authority. She had the habit of using her brush on her hair, a stark visual reminder for me [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
