Gabby is likely to not do well getting through a very hard first spanking as an adult. Suggest the principles of taking your licks well to her.

The most important one is that getting spanked is not a fight. If Gabby is sporty and not thinking straight, she is going to have to make a serious effort not to defend herself, especially if your mom isn't going to work with her to get her acclimated to how it works with some sample licks.

So Gabby is moved in. She didn't have much stuff so it wasn't a big ordeal. Before she did, my mom and I (even my stupid little sister) sat down with her and told her a thousand times what happens when you misbehave in this house. Like a thousand times we both said "Are you sure?"
My mom really likes her and my sister adores her.
