IMHO that makes the event in such a way more deterrent (means more effective !) than in the privacy of the child's bedroom. But it's only my opinion...And you pointed right the key moment when underpants or panties come down (the other-ones know well than, when it happens, it won't be for fun !)

As I said I usually start with my hand (I like rubbing gently while lecturing otk) and then I go to a more stinging business with an implement. I think my best choice for now (and for them, from fast 6 to 10+) is a nylon spatula from my kitchen. It is light (no worries at all about bruising) and stings... the hell. I have tried on my own thighs ouch ! So no need to hit very hard to make the point :-) It is also a good size for either their little bottoms or the back of their thighs.
