Subject: spanking/paddling at home 1960's

When we were growing up only the boys in our family got paddled--It had to be for something serious but it happened to all theboys thru high school. Mom paddled us over her knee til about 14--and after that dad paddled us thru high school---It was on the bare butt--from mom it was over her lap even when we were bigger than she---When dad had to paddle us in high school yrs it was bare butt just bending over holding ankles--Both mom and dad made it hurt although it was not abusive--they were great parents. In that era we just accepted that mom had a right to paddle us over her lap even at 14+ It was just considerd part of mom's job---I am glad only the boys got it--Our sisters would have minded it more and probably been embarrassed--Thye sure did not deserve it--Actually we did deserve it!
