As it was, steering Naicus proved the bigger obstacle, so crazed was the colt by his sudden inability to fend for himself. Squealing periodically from sheer frustration, the colt was desperately swimming in neck-high snow drifts, frightened by the lack of solid ground beneath his hooves. Morrow's strong muzzle was prodding him, and none to gently, in a direction that ment nothing to him. Obviously, his father did not understand the fruitlessness of his actions, as Naicus was slowly being buried by the blowing storm.
