Subject: The Word Count so far…
In reply to: Mark 's message, "Re: New Smoke City - The Gretchen Chronicles UPDATED!" on 09:25:54 05/04/25 Sun

G'day Mark,

Working on the Volume builds, and did a word count.

THE GRETCHEN CHRONICLES - WORD COUNT

Volume 01 - 2,870 - Short Story
Volume 02 - 4,516 - Short Story
Volume 03 - 3,889 - Short Story
Volume 04 - 4,517 - Short Story
Volume 05 - 8,311 - Novelette
Volume 06 - 12,151 - Novelette
Volume 07 - 14,525 - Novelette
Volume 08 - 16,643 - Novelette
Volume 09 - 19,121 - Novella
Volume 10 - 15,918 - Novelette
Volume 11 - 24,503 - Novella
Volume 12 - 27,904 - Novella
Volume 13 - 20,022 - Novella

Total - 190,808 - Epic

I've kept the same Layout as the Trevor books, except they'll be Pink in colour. If/When I do Breanna, I'll probably go with Yellow, in keeping with the single volume version. That way all three arcs will be easy to distinguish.

I haven't had so much fun in a while.

When I've done the builds for Gretchen, I'll pull the Breanna stories and give them the same treatment, saving me time later on.

Hopefully at some point, when I get more storage space, I'll be able to drop links for everything.

So I'm guessing Breanna is next? I should get all that stuff ready. My database has 6 stories listed, though it's a bit out-of-date.

When I last did a head count on the Library, I was 28 files short of 800, the upcoming NSC will make that 27, the 13 current Gretchen volumes will take that to 14, and the 6 Breanna volumes will drop that to 8. If I can fill another volume of unfinished stories, 7, and if I can fill another volume of story reviews, 6. So, technically, I'll pass the 800 file mark before the end of the year. If I got caught up on all the stuff I've had to let slide, we'd be well on our way to 900 files. I hope Dropbox comes good with another storage offer. Box is okay, I've got a 5 gig maximum on that account, and it's a bit over half full.

Getting the Treasury volumes done would certainly put us there, and there's an unknown number of Fiction Showcase volumes to catch up on. I don't even want to think about the Seductively Drawn volumes.

One day, there is going to be a huge drop of content. I hope people's brains don't explode.

Could you do me a huge favour, and post the links to the 2024 State Fair stuff, please? It would save me a lot of time.

All this forward-thinking has unsettled me.

I need a cup of tea.

Nick
