Well, I'm glad to have you help me confirm that it was not me posting there. Relating to the Heather-Diane storyline, I tend to agree that I didn't particularly care for it all that much. I can understand why the original author included it, and Diane made for an interesting counterpart to Heather given the little we knew of her, but I found the relationship seemed somewhat forced and found it difficult to do much with her, which is why I eased her out.

As I mentioned in the intro to my part, the original two parts of the story were somewhat frustrating for me because there were so many characters that were very peripheral and didn't do much before vanishing. There were lots of words written about people or situations that just never came back in later parts. I tried to reference some of them but the long section in part two about the Dominguez family in particular just did nothing for me.

I suspect as I believe you mentioned that it was the authors intent to return to them (and perhaps others as well) in part 3 but I did not enjoy that particular storyline and just let it stay where he left it. None of that should mislead anyone into thinking I do not consider Don's original work to be anything other than a masterpiece of the genre. It is outstanding.
