Subject: Looking like a smoker

In a previous post, there was a question "Can you look at someone and tell if they are a smoker, especially women?"

My answer is: not always.

Many times the face will show if someone smokes, especially women, but I've seen many an older, even heavy smoker that showed no signs. Usually the signs are heavy wrinkes (around the mouth, forehead, and eyes) and an overal aged, gray appearance, with stained teeth.

I have worked in many locations and if a women pays attention to her looks it's almost impossible to tell. I don't know what they are doing, but probably moisturizing their skin plays a role. Years ago I went to my 25th high school reunion and many of the smokers had not quit, yet they still looked young.

I have an older sister in her 70's and while she looks her years, she doesn't look that bad.
