Probably to harvest emails. The site does have a 'submit a story' page where providing a valid email address is a requirement to submit.
I'd also not call the site creator an author. All they've done is type words into the prompt box on a chatbot and at best copy-edited it.
More to the point they are fundamentally dishonest, by claiming that all the fiction was written by them.
