Plot cul-de-sacs.

Agggghhhhhh

I know all about them.

If you are writing a "simple" story of one protagonist it's easier to avoid them.

BUT when you've got multiple characters on their own personal arc it's very easy to get into a dead end - even if you have the ultimate destination planned.

Because they are all interacting with each other. The whole butterfly effect. A flirtatious smile in chapter 1 you are trying to really work out if they would be dropping their panties in chapter 5, especially with the person who didn't expect them to be doing so.

I've got two stories stuck. I know where I need to get to. But where I've got them isn't conducting a flurry of writing to get them there.

I've written a third completely non smoking storyline and now trying to get her to smoke.

It's difficult 🤣
