Subject: Our teacher allows different shoes at any point, but doesn't require them until they get different steps. Nice since jazz shoes are SO much cheaper. Different steps happened for my son at novice level.

  • My son started using true reel shoes after about a year of dancing. He competed in beg and advn beg in basic jazz shoes. His steps were always slightly adjusted to have a "heel" instead of a "point" for example. But there were just the regular school steps everyone learned.
