Subject: Yes, we did, TC knew about it and spoke to the dancers as a group, but as the above responder said, they just kept doing it. DD was older and ended up leaving dancing for good.
In reply to: thoughts? 's message, "Anyone experience bullying behavior in their dance class? The things my DD tells me when she returns from class are downright mean. Not always directed at just one person, but two girls tend to gang up on someone nearly every class and whisper, have group texts or say awful things right to their face. The TC is young, and 100% wrapped up with these girls parents and always chocks it up to "pre-teen/teen drama." Has been going on for years, despite confronting parents. Is there any solution other than leaving school?" on 07:20:42 09/27/18 Thu

Replies:

  • Private lessons? Tell her to keep her head up and learn the age old skill of ignoring and not giving the bullies fodder. Have her build relationships with the other dancers not involved in the bullying, and always act in kindness no matter what the others do. She'll come Out ahead in life. • Dancer shouldn’t have to pay more just for private’s to get away from the bullies. Teacher needs to handle it just as in a school and zero tolerance policy. Management is important in any setting! (NT) -- Everyone belongs, 18:18:52 10/01/18 Mon
