I must not have been clear, because you did miss the point.

I do recommend that people go back to the way Moe gripped a club in the 40's, i.e., with a normally sized grip, Vardon overlap, held high, left shoulder high, so that the student can more easily understand the evolution of the grip. If a student is coming from CG, he can experience the non-rotational movement of the right hitting the ball, and understand that this movement is not just the domain of a palm grip. Moe evolved to a palm grip primarily by increasing the width of the grips. Natural Golf is not some form of black magic that happens from the palm grip. Understand what I am saying here. If you have regularly sized grips on your clubs, you can still deliver the club single axis, and it will help you understand the inherent motion that creates the success of this type of swing.

Further, I do think it is important to understand the developer twist on the grip. Moe held the club in the fingers of the left hand, according to Peter Fox, who is one of NG's top people. Moe had several grips, and I think the Journeman tape is probably the best. There is nothing wrong with the way NG teaches the grip, but, hey, that wasn't Moe's grip. In the Peter Fox book on Natural Golf they have an excellent illustration of Moe's grip. You can prefer to think that Moe palmed up with both hands and stuffed that thumb in there; that is your perogative.

The rest of my post was self explanatory. If you are a tall person, tee one up on a plastic water bottle to get an idea of Moe's plane, and that odd driver swing of Moe's won't seem so odd, and will help you understand a more upright driver release.

NG addresses none of the critical criticisms directed at them but argue stupidly, from their own perspective, just as you do on this forum. NG gets nervous around truth; just as you do.
