great post john doe. very observant re observer. just a few small corrections if i may:

he's not the cop. he's an ex jail punk, probably.

best friends with ed laskody? yes, but only if he wants to cure insomnia.

newly mown alfalfa? nah, he likes just newly shot ball grease.

don't knock nascar...didn't understand it until i went to a race and it was alot of fun.

yes, he's always a big prick...what else could he be by contriving a story about having a dead wife...sick person, he is.

probably a golfer with diminishing skills, too if he swears by that stupid grass cutting drill.
