Snoopy,
I am afraid that my coach taught me just fine, my throws were stronger and more accurate. Not by a lot, but enough to make a difference. Also, that method puts less stress on the arm. You see I talking from personal experience here, I have used an 'arm swing' and I have used a 'body' swing. There is a difference between the two. I used the baseball analogy to try to illustrate my point. BTW I have experimented a bit with using only arms and using only body in the golfswing. It was pretty funny. Neither one works very well. You cannot swing with any speed without using the body. Why don't you try it yourself. Find a way to lock your shoulders up so that they cannot move and see how far you can hit the ball! Then try to make noodles out of you arms and see if you can whip em around a bit. Heck you might even learn something about your own swing. Like I said a good swing is a blend.
Regards, Herbert
