Remington,
Bent left leg is standard pro swing teaching. The left leg should not straighten until after impact. Is this the same idea that you mention?
Yes, I am using the Heard swing for these reasons:
1) I have my swing so screwed up that it would take too much effort to get back to anything orthodox. My plane is way to flat and fixing it would be more work then I feel like doing. Also would require too much time.
2) My back seems to hold up much better with HSS.
3) HSS is so stupid simple that I can play without much practice, and still hit some greens. When I step up to the ball I feel confident that I can hit a good shot and I am not thinking much about mechanics or thinking at all about switching methods for that matter.
Don't know how long I will stay with it though. My track record in that area is a bit spotty at best!
The most difficult part of the pro swing for me to understand is the transition from backswing to forward swing. Pretty interesting stuff in Dr. Mann's Model Swing program regarding this subject.
One other thing, Moe makes a pretty good pro swing. His setup is bit unusual but the rest of it is pure.
Regards, Herbert
