Subject: Mountain out of a mole hill regarding Divine Word (Madang) University Status

I have read Bill White's web site on Divine Word.

It all makes sense (about not going through proper procedures to declare Divine Word a university).

At the same time, it isn't surprising.

I think Bill was not in PNG for too long.

These kinds of things happen all the time.

The whole country has stopped following the rule of law.

NEC constantly sidesteps parliament.

We have several laws on the books that are definitely unconstitutional.

But none of them have been challenged in court so they stay on.

What Bill says is symptomatic of a very big thing.

It is less accurately defined as corruption as it is defined as anarchy. Either anarchy or refusable to accept the rule of law.

It goes all the way to the prime minister, who bushwhips his ministers into the various NEC decisions.

Bill obviously is not going to change anything, the situation he talks about is in every crack and corner of PNG now.
