Those who have had some work experience will see exactly the same thing in the offices.

Ol lain i strong long dinau em ol lain i no kisim bikpela moni long hap ol i wok - olsem ol teaboy, meilboy or klina. In some situations it is called "sande" - the rotation of borrowings among club members. One person is given a portion of the others' pay during one payday. This reduces the disposable income of other members while it gives some breathing space for one person to meet his/her financial commitments. You'll find that it is a vicious circle of borrowing, a little happy weekend for one individual and more fortnights of sad faces for many.

Individual incomes don't increase anymore while they continue to be members of the "sande" club of borrowers.

PNG is in the club of borrowers. PNG is like a teaboy who continues to borrow on the bases of the next fortnight. PNG morgages its resources in the hope of getting more loans to make good the short term commitments but continues to pile up debts along the way, especially as potential investors in PNG are slowly dwindling away.

So, bai PNG i stap oltaim olsem klina ia em i nogat wei blong lusim dinau em i kisim long "sande" klab. Em bai i stap klina oltaim.
