Subject: Jealousy of the leaders

Good point. The presidents of a handful of major US companies make close to one billion dollars a year. The president of the US makes about $400,000 dollars a year. Why does he run for this office? two reasons. Number one he does indeed think he can make the country better. Number two. He ain't smart enough to run one of those companies that pay the big bucks. He might be patriotic but the fact is he is never the smartest person in the country. He is just the one who is able to charm his way to get more votes. This characteristic makes him a fairly good leader most of the time. Fortunately America has something PNG does not have. First the people fully support the president and the office he holds. They have good checks and balances that will put a corrupt one out of office in a civilized manor(Richard Nixon) and the one thing America has that does not work well in PNG, once he gets into office he is there for 4 years, like him or not. As a result you don't have the opposition trying to get a vote of no confidence all the time to cut his administration short. So they just all work work to get something done. And.....the people of the United States do not complain that the president lives in a great big house and rides around in a fancy car. That is a perk of the job.
