Where are you going to get the educated work force that will be required to do the jobs you describe. You are very correct in your statements concerning what PNG needs. However, I am an American who has been trying to help PNG progress for almost ten years now. I have to talked to government officials about projects there at the highest level in Port Moresby. When I am with them they show such great excitment for the projects that you leave with no doubt in your mind that something good has come my expensive trip. But guess what happens with all the follow ups they promise? NO ONE DAMN THING!!!! You can call, you can fax, you can try to e-mail but you will never get a reply. Oh! I stand corrected. One time I did get a reply from the Fisheries people. Exactly 9 months after my meeting. So the problems in PNG continue and for a very obvious reason. They just don't give a damn! There are two reasons why you will never get a serious large company to come there and set up shop in PNG. They can not supply educated workers and they have no sense of urgency.

I have not given up on PNG but it gets mighty difficult to keep the faith sometimes.
