The coaches poll came out today. The Black Bears received 6 of 7 first place votes. Vermont received the other first place vote and was a strong runner-up pick.

hmmmmmm what? Maine and Vermont were picked #1 and # 2, and they were the top 2 finishers. The pre-season poll does not choose who they think will win the AE tourney.

I think we all saw that coming. Maine is returning nearly everyone after the championship season. UVM should give Maine a strong run, especially since they're hosting the conference tourney this year.

I'm very optimistic about UVM's chances this year, but I certainly agree with the coaches that Maine is the favorite this year.

That's the beauty of baseball, though. Once the tourney starts, all it takes is a couple of hot pitchers to throw the seedings out of whack.

A great start to the season for BU baseball. Should be a very exciting spring.
