I saw Turner a number of times in AAU ball and was always quite impressed.I'm pretty sure he's a Jersey kid.If I remember correctly he was down to 5 very good schools along with Maine. The reason Maine was even involved was that Giannini was very friendly with either Turner's coach(Berry?) or the man who was guiding Turner during the process.Turner would be a fantastic get for the AE and Maine. He would establish himself pretty quickly as one of the best guards in the conference.

Maybe I have the wrong guy then or wrong name but I do know Coach G told me there was a big guy from Vegas coming to visit (thought he said his name was Turner)I know he was excited about possibly getting this big man who he said was very athletic. I'll post when I find out more infro on him.

Re: Has Maine signed anybody this spring? -- Van Lier, 14:49:32 05/21/03 Wed
Black Bears recent history of reserve front-liners coming to the fore when it's their turn is definitely in jeopardy it would seem.
As of right now, frontcourt candidates are White (if he reclaims the fourth year), Campbell, Flavin and Dubois. If immediate help does not arrive, Flavin and/or Dubois will have to do far more than they've indicated is possible.
Reed, Hill, Udo, Petkus, Dobson, Markwood should make for a very good rotation at 1, 2 and, possibly, the 3.

Coach G gets the most out of whoever he has in the lineup at Maine. Great job with his teams over the years.

Re: It's Official UNLV's Turner Transfers to Maine -- Will, 14:34:07 06/18/03 Wed
Top 200 prospect out of high school, on some Top 100 lists. Should be a very nice A-East player. Him and Markwood could end up the best backcourt in the conference if both play up to potential.
Any news on big guys for Maine?

Wait until this kid finds out, unlike at UNLV, that he has to go to class at Maine. He could be in for a long winter!
