Bruff's(Maine recruit) teammate Richardson(PG) will attend Hartford as a walk-on.

All good news lsbal. I assume that because Baker has signed, Thomas and Chatman are out? Let's hope Watson doesn't like what he sees at SJS. With Baker and Taylor signed, how many more do we have for next year? Any other recruiting news?

On another note, I hear Zakee Boyd is looking seriously at Central CT.

Shaun Swan was the only player not to partake in the banquet. It was said that he was with his family(I think that was the reason).I'm wondering out loud if that is telling us something(I certainly could be reading too much into it).

Yes Torrey(I led my team to the state championship and should be a Big East player now) Thomas...I'm hearing Holy Cross might be the destination...and Chatman are out.

Taylor's(who everyone calls "BO") signed committment was rec'd today. They are very appreciative of his loyalty with his verbal.A number of schools including A-10 schools jumped into the fray during and after the state championships. He was 1st team all-state MVP of his region and district. Interesting kid in that he was under-recruited like Pierre Johnson.Like Pierre he is a poor free throw shooter...figures.He is also great down low, terrific post moves. He is currently an inch shorter than Pierre but I don't expect the impact that Pierre created as a freshman. While not being a great shooter he certainly has more range than Pierre did. Pierre will be extremely hard to replace though. He was a warrior. One of the quietest people I have ever met off the court and one of the hardest workers on the court.

Baker's committment is due tommorrow. The players all told me the same thing about him.He wants to and knows exactly how to pass the ball to the exact place that each player needs in order to maximize an offensive series. He won't score much but that is ok.We need the point guard to make other players better.Hopefully he can help do this.He will get his chances this year.

Watson is making me nervous. Not sure what are chances are now.San Jose St(JUCO heaven) could be tough competition. He has turned down other calling schools. It will be a close call. With Watson I think Hartford has a serious shot next year...without him...the frontcourt makes me nervous.Parker tells me this guy is a monster.Tremendous rebounder..tough and can jump out of the gym. Can't score like a Pierre but the kind of guy that does the dirty work.

That's it for this coming year if Watson signs. The class would be Baker,Taylor,Watson,Regan(earns a scholy-he got most improved award this year) and Lowndes.5 scholy's.

Very Prelim but it looks like Stys and Cook in the backcourt.Parker at the 3,Watson or Bosley at the 4,and Goode at the 5. It looks like Lowndes will get a lot of time this year.He has grown to be 6'10.The players all talk about him. They say he doesn't look like it but he can play.He is so skinny. He has a real soft touch around the basket.Parker also told me if Bosley could stay healthy he would be a great player. He said he is the toughest guy to play against on the squad. We also have Lang and Zimnackis(he loves being at Hartford) joining us in the frontcourt this year as well.

This coming summer as opposed to playing in Springfield the newbies will be playing at Weaver High School in Hartford's summer league.I will get the schedule and what team each player is on.If you'd like it you can e-mail me.Baker,Taylor(Watson-if he comes),Lowndes,Zimnackis, and Lang are all currently expected to play. It's really fun to watch the summer leagues if you haven't before.

You are absolutely correct.I hope he goes there as we can see him for 4 years.
