Great spot for the America East Women's Tournament!

I was under the impression, based on post-tourney reviews this year, that BU had no interest in hosting the tournament.

And they're bidding to host next year?

Pretty disappointing that UMaine administration can't pull together southern Maine alum/business and put together a bid for Portland.

Go Hartford. But if Bing gets it, so be it.

Another question, why does the women's tournament just drop the ninth-place team and the men, evidently, will play a single play-in game next year?

I think that the women will have a play-in game next year as well. The whole format might change if UMBC comes in next year. First round could be 7 vs 10, and 8 vs 9.

We all know that the men used to have two play-in games the Friday of tournament — and most likely will again as soon as UMBC joins the fold. And according to article, men will have a single play-in game next year. Call it a bonus night in Binghamton for UNH and ???

Question still is, why has there been a difference between the men's and women's tourney format?

From what I've heard, there won't be any difference next year.
