Red XIII scrutinizes his tablemates carefully, but briefly. A look of chagrin passes across his features at Irvine's address. "Simply Nanaki is fine, Mr. Kinneas. And please, all of you, be at your ease."

"Yeah, Red doesn't bite," Cloud jibes. "Hard, anyway." He ignores the long-suffering look thrown his way by the guardian of Cosmo Canyon. "And you didn't have to pay for us, you know."

"Are you complaining, Strife?" Red XIII's flame-tipped tail flicks irritably; strangely enough, it does not set anything on fire, though it certainly seems like it would burn your hand if you touched it.

"No, no, not at all," Cloud says, holding up his hands. "Why would I complain about free food?"

"You certainly never have before," Vincent murmurs.

"Enough, enough," Red XIII interjects. "You are not here to discuss food. There is a grave matter that I need to speak with you about. All all of you," he adds, including the foreigners.

"What, we need to save the world again?" It was a running gag; a motley gang led by Cloud Strife had saved the world once, and every time an emergency came up it was said that they were "saving the world again."

But Red XIII replied, in all seriousness, "Something like that."
