Hi Roddy
It seems the music box is up and running. That's great and
thanks for the effort you and Graham put in to making it a
success.
I need to start by saying that I had no use for Disco music.
I was the four, four beat rock and roller. I admired the
Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Yardbirds,Animals, Rascals etc.
However the Bee Gees were able to spoonfeed disco to the
masses without the masses recognising they were getting a
dose of disco.
They had such fantastic harmonies that when the song came
on you had to listen to it. Us 50s guys remember the
Everly brothers harmonies and the Bee Gees gave us those
quality harmonies, plus a rich full song to appreciate.
When I figured out the Bee Gees were soft peddling disco,
I still didn't like disco but I still loved the Bee Gees.
I still to this day can't figure out the venom toward the
Bee Gees from the music industry when they owned the air
waves. I believe the year the SNF album was released they
were snubbed at the Gramys. There is no excuse for that
treatment.
So congrats again on your forum and long may it live.
Best to my fellow posters Danny L Todd
