I know I am really late to this one, but you will probably find me resurrecting some older threads with wanting to comment on topics I had missed. This one included!

Mark,

Oh yes, I remember Tessa. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and always had a great story to tell. I do miss her contributions and hope she is doing well.

As to your question on that generations implement, to be honest, we don't have that in our family. Well, not exactly.

Like with my mom, she has not passed on her hairbrush as she still puts it to use! With her great-granddaughter and other children that she babysits. And it's much the same as myself. I haven't passed on my hairbrush to my children, because as you know, for much the same reason in I still put my hairbrush to use.

Although the first hairbrush that I purchased was a similar situation to Mary in I bought it at a flea market, when my oldest was getting close to that age where I would need to start using it. The brush was in excellent shape, but was well worn, and I mean on it's backside, so it was evident what it was used for and probably for many, many years. I am sure it has MANY stories to tell in spanking naughty bottoms.

It served me well for almost 15 years, adding many more stories with my children and other children I spanked. But like I have mentioned on here before, I upgraded to another hairbrush about 15 years ago now. One where the head is slightly bigger, but more importantly, the handle is longer, so it makes it easier and more comfortable to hold the brush for the thorough (long) spankings I like to administer. I still have the other brush as a back-up, but I have not used it in since getting my new brush.
