Subject: Training to FLY!

**She sends a glare at Alara. "If you mess up even once because you jumped the gun I'm going to ground you." Meaning Alara wouldn't be allowed to fly for a nice long while. After settling that matter, she has Anraeth gather those who need to fly, since K'u is seriously slacking.**

**She looks at everyone. "Get fighting straps and goggles, now!" She points to the two piles. The rider proceeds to show how to put a harness on a dragon, where the straps generally stretch, how to maintain them, how to fix them if they break, where to find new ones, how to sew a strap, and the parts of the harness, and adds that everyone MUST check their harness before EVERY FLIGHT for weaknesses or stretching. "Got it? Good, now take the harness off and on to get used to it." After the weyrlings do this, Resa has Anraeth instruct the dragons to go aloft, WITHOUT riders, and get used to flying, even though most have flown during hunting before. Then she signals for them to land, and proceeds to lecture on the safety procedures for flight. Don't kick the dragon, grab the long strap right there to pull yourself up, step up on your dragon's foreleg if needed for the larger colors, settle yourself between the first and second neck ridges, hang on to the straps. Anraeth orders the dragons to launch themselves by leaning back, leaping and downsweeping at the same time. The green demonstrates, then lands again. "Lean forward when you launch, otherwise you get whiplash pretty bad. Make sure you have your goggles on." Resa pauses, running her old training through her head to make sure she doesn't forget anything. You have said everything. "Thanks, Anraeth." She grimaces and then motions for the weyrlings to continue practicing mounting and dismounting. "Now have your dragons walk around a bit, to get used to the weight." After they do this, she nods and swings up on Anraeth. "Launch!" She orders, and hangs on as her own green propells them both into the air. She hovers easily and watches the weyrlings. Continue flying. Do not try aerobatics yet. Practice often and do not continue as soon as you feel tired. Do not fly right after eating a lot. Anraeth rattles off the advice and Resa nods. After executing a few simple maneuvers, the pair land and let the weyrlings practice.**

[ooc- Okay, so I'm cheating and giving two lessons. Sha, you should too. All Igen kids are dragons now. Argh, and I don't even like training... ::rolls eyes:: ]

        **Anraeth lets out an indignant bellow, her eyes changing from a sleepy blue-violet to an angry red. Resa raises one hand to calm her dragon. "I don't suggest you presume any more, weyrling. I said nothing of my position, let alone bragged about it." Anraeth rumbles in her throat, shifting about angrily.         **The green swivels her head to face the younger dragon. It will be controlled, once you have flown a full Fall and been able to sustain flame that long. Then, you will be able to control it.
