Kalya opened her eyes, quickly rubbing the sleepiness out of them, and somehow stumbling to her feet, making an attempt at stretching, and lurching back, falling against Layath, who really didn't appreciate it, for now she was awake too.

Kalya ran into the showering rooms and quickly was in dirty from the soap suds, Hatching sand, and the oil of last night, and out clean.
Lay, darling, which of these fancy dresses should I choose?
A gold one.
Why?
So you can match me, of course!
Alright...there are a couple of gold ones here, which do I choose? Gold seems a bit...I don't know, like bragging. And I've never really been comfortable with that...
Your friends won't think of it like that. But fine, we'll compromise. Pick a rusty-colored one.

Kalya turned back to the dresses, sorting through them, and finally pulling out a russet colored one that didn't have poofy shoulder puffs, only a little collar on the ends of them, and a goldish lace collar at the neck.
There's no way Layath can complain about this one.
Kalya walked back, to have Lay tell her how beautiful her dress was.
Just then she noticed a smaller egg, much smaller than Layath's had been, with a note attached to it.

Kalya smiled, that was a nice thing to do...then she picked up the flit egg.
"I'll keep this warm, let's go back and watch the rest of the Hatching, shall we?"
Good idea, Lya. Let's go!
Kalya scooped up the flit egg, which she was beginning to think was a blue, and walked out with Layath, who was taking regal steps and was already far ahead of her lifemate.
What should we name it Layath?
Caeruleus.
I like it. We'll name him that when he hatches.
Kalya hurried to catch up to Layath, with the unhatched Caeruleus in tow.
