~Nearly trembling, Eve fumbles to settle the harness properly on Palirth's side-stepping form. ^Palirth! Hold still!^ the tall girl whispers, grinning brightly in anticipation. Palirth stops her prancing. I don't like S'rald. Zioth is rude. I can't wait! Eve shushes her green's first two comments, stifling a chuckle at the third. To fly, ah, what dreams! Dreams which would soon be a reality! After tightening the final strap, Eve, grinning, grabs hold of the handhold on the long strap. Taking a deep breath, she swings herself up much as she would a large runner, one leg over and settling herself on the neck between the two ridges. She gasps, half-from pre-flight fright and half because of the sudden change of view. Palirth, amused by her rider, begins walking without any orders. She keeps her slow gait smooth, so as not to knock Eve off. ^Now THAT,^ Evelene thinks to herself, ^would be embarrassing!^ She grabs tightly onto the straps, reminding herself inadvertantly of checking and rechecking them earlier to see if they fit and if they were safe. Palirth, her eyes whirling a beautiful blue-green, with excited orange on the edges, speeds up her walk a little. Her rider balances easily. Having been a harper apprentice -and being Searched a mere month before getting her journeywoman's knots!- she had ridden many runners. Grinning and flipping her thick black curls, she awaits further instruction.~
