"Now we're late.... Why'd you have to stop for so long back there?" T'gan asks his sister.

"Wista clutched, and of course Laffranth and I had to admire it," Akema replies tartly. "Besides, it wasn't so long, and I had to tell Wista to set aside those eggs I promised Angele." Even as she speaks, she is putting on riding clothes from a pile at the back of the group. "Hurry, and we'll be ready in time." She fastens the ridind straps onto her dragon. ^How do they feel, Laffranth?^

The green squirms a bit. *Tight,* she pronounces. *Definately too tight.* She looks back at her rider with whirling green eyes. *Ignore T'gan. Chuth says he's just annoyed because of that stunt Kestor pulled.*

Akema loosens the straps. ^I can understand that! Maybe you could ask Chuth, in a roundabout way, to suggest to T'gan he train his firelizard better? Wista would never do that, and she's mischief incarnate!^

Laffranth sighs in relief. *There, that's a perfect fit. Wonderful. Yes, I'll talk to Chuth later.*

The bronze in question nuzzles his rider gently as the boy adjusts the riding straps. *That's a good fit, T'gan. Climb on, and we'll be ready to go?*

T'gan and Akema manage to clamber on just as the other weyrlings are finishing up. They look at each other with cocky grins, and Akema holds up three fingers, then begins folding them down. As the silent countdown reaches zero, the young riders chorus, "We're ready!"
