Quickly stumbling to his feet S'lant checks the riding straps thoroughly... then faulting onto Parath's back he sighs.
~Ready?~
~I've been ready since the trainer left.~
~You better not be pert to his face, or both of us'll get it.~ even in his serious tone Parath heard the laughter.
~Ok... here we go.~
At her cue Parath took long gracefull strides and pumped her wings... Parath had been a little too earger and flew more than ten feet into the air... as they flew through the air S'lant started to feel himself slip, he grabbed blindly for anything that would keep him from falling... his hand caught on the straps...
~Parath,~ S'lant's voice was frantic, ~slowly lower yourself down until I tell you to stop... then hover so I can jump down. Ok.~
~Yes.~ Parath was slowly being influenced by her lifemates feelings, but she would not let if show... for his sake.
Slowly she started to lower her body down through the air... S'lant sighed, everything was going to be alright... except for when they reach the ground and have to deal with the wrath of the training master... as his thoughts were racing S'lant had forgotten to tell Parath to stop, the ground was coming up quickly...
His legs were dangling seven feet from the ground, but his heart was set on making sure no harm came to Parath... slowly S'lant let his strong hands slip away from the leather straps, and he braced himself for the fall...
~Parath... carefully land over there. I don't want you to get hurt.~ no more fear showed in his voice.
Angered at the words coming from her lifemate, Parath mournfully looked down... bound to S'lant in soul, Parath followed him in mind... sadly Parath flew to the side and landed, just as the sickening crack resounded through the area... the sound of S'lant hitting the hard rock floor... Parath bugled as she felt S'lants agony... she strode over to his crumpled body...
~D...Don't w- worry... I think I just broke my legs.~ tears were streaming down his face as he tried to supress a wail.
Parath angrily bugled, had no one seen her lifemate fall? Bending her large head down to him she tried to comfort him, until help came.
