I would actually take my DD out of school for two days to attend. And I rarely took her out of school for anything except Dr's appointments. We treated the feis weekend as a mini vacay and looked forward to it every year.

The Host school stated they stopped doing it due to "personal reasons." Personally, I think it was getting harder and harder to get enough people to run it, the venue was expensive an registrations were down. The last year they ran it, they held second chance, which, if they are like most other feiseanna that host second chance, did so because registrations were down. (This was back before 2nd chance was taken away as an option for this region).

We were crushed when they shuttered this feis right before my daughter's senior year, which would have been our last time attending. (Covid would have nixed it anyway).

It would be wonderful if another school or group of schools would bring it back.
