Less of a stigma. Some people have mental illness that makes some successful. There are those who are workaholics (they can go periods without sleep) and be creative but they crash when the mania ends. The highs are higher, the lows are lower which is why bipolar disorder needs to be controlled with meds. When in low, people can commit suicide or "high" and get reckless. Think Charlie Sheen, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Catherine Zeta Jones, etc. With meds they are fine. These disorders do not always manifest early, but in Suzy Hamiltons case, antidepressants triggered her mania. Someone who has bipolar disorder but in the low "depressed" mood is given an antidepressant, they will have manic episode instead. I wonder about people like Hester and ? Hope people get help.
