Unfortunately, I've gotten a new tattoo in the last year and can't donate blood. I wanted to yesterday, but was reminded of the hepititis possibility.

However, I agree with your statements 100%. This attack was meant to scare Americans, was meant as "retaliation" for our support of Israel.

Instead of scaring us, however, it had two effects: One, it's angered us across the board; race, creed, political affiliation, we're all angered beyond belief. The second affect was that the American attitude that we're "special" has been irrevocably shattered. If Rex Murphy's rant on the CBC last night is any indication, it's affected Canadians in exactly the same way.

As a result of that second effect, I think we're ready to pick up Tony Blair's call to arms. He's right. The World Trade Centers were not an "American" institution. There were people from all over the world in those buildings. France and Germany both called for an eradication of terrorism by any means necessary. I agree. There simply aren't enough of these zealots for them to take this kind of step. They'll regret it.
