Personally I think spankings in these are not a good choice.
Bedwetting cannot be helped and if the doctor said that no medical reason could be found yen perhaps you should look into the fact that you're not his real mom and he may be having problems with that.
We have 2 bedwetters and using nighttime protection allows them a good nights sleep and sleeping well helps them be more alert during the day.
Just some thoughts.
